Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit – North Carolina

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: Asheville, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule; modified self-scheduling available; 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio (1:1 when required)

Highlights:

• Work in a 20-bed Surgical Trauma ICU at an ACS Verified Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated hospital
• Advanced critical care experience with complex procedures including EVDs, CRRT, proning, TPA administration, and ventilator management
• EMR: Cerner PowerChart; equipped with state-of-the-art technology including GE ventilators, Prisma Max CRRT, iCool machines, wound vacs, and more
• Strong unit support with dedicated supervisors, patient care technicians, and ICU waiting room coordinators on AM and PM shifts
• Team-oriented environment with modified self-scheduling to support work-life balance
• Opportunity to float to other ICUs (MICU, NSICU, CVICU, CICU) or Step Down units, expanding clinical experience

Requirements:

• Valid Registered Nurse license
• Active ACLS and BLS certifications
• Acute care ICU experience required (LTAC experience not considered)
• Trauma ICU experience at a Level I or Level II Trauma Center strongly preferred
• Surgical ICU background required
• Proficiency with advanced critical care procedures including central lines, A-lines, chest tubes, intubation/extubation, bronchoscopy, and CRRT
• Compassionate, team-oriented approach with a positive attitude and flexibility
