Chief Physician & Surgeon, Correctional Facility – Pleasant Valley State Prison Classification: Chief Physician & Surgeon, Correctional Facility Salary: $26,404.00 – $31,123.00 per month (minimum salary or minimum of alternate range for new to state candidates) # of Positions: 1 Work Location: Pleasant Valley State Prison, Coalinga, Fresno County, California Job Type: 12‑Month Limited Term – Full Time Under the general direction of the Institution Chief Medical Executive, the Chief Physician & Surgeon directly supervises all civil service and contract medical physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants assigned to the institution and works collaboratively with other clinical and custody supervisors and managers to ensure medical services are provided safely, timely, effectively and efficiently to the patient population at the assigned institution. Minimum Requirements Minimum qualifications as specified in the classification specification. Desirable Qualifications Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the Medical Board of California or the California Board of Osteopathic Examiners. Possession of a valid certificate issued by an American Medical Specialty Board or an American Osteopathic Board as a specialist in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
