Must-Have:

• 2 years of ICU experience
• Strong experience in advanced ICU skills

Description: The ICU unit has 24 beds. There are 46 staff members in the unit. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:2, with 1:3 for step-down patients and 1:1 for sitters or higher acuity patients. There is 1 Clinical Care Technician/Unit Secretary available during the day shift if there are 10 patients. The documentation system used is electronic. Candidates should be comfortable with straight night shifts or a 50/50 rotation. Floating may occur to Step Down or as a sitter anywhere in the inpatient hospital. Candidates must have experience with rapid sequence intubations, central line placements, ventilators, vasopressors, restraint use, and arterial lines. Procedures performed on this unit include bronchoscopy, intubation, arterial line placement, and chest tube placement. The ideal candidate is outgoing and a team player. Three weekend shifts are expected within a four-week period.
