ER Registered Nurse – Emergency Department
Utica, New York, United States

Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour evening shift (14:30–03:00)
Weekly pay: $2,452–$2,513 per week
Guaranteed hours: 48 per week
Setting: emergency department within a healthcare facility
This is a travel - temporary assignment open to qualified candidates.

- Unit setting: Emergency Department with 64 beds, including triage, acute, super track, trauma, CDU, and psych beds
- Floating required to other ED areas; scrubs: Navy Blue

Responsibilities
- Provide direct emergency nursing care for patients across the lifespan in a high-volume ED, including assessment, triage, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring
- Administer medications and IV therapies, including vasoactive drips and other critical infusions per physician orders; use rapid infusors and other unit equipment as needed
- Perform advanced life support interventions, airway management, and coordination of care during acute events (stroke, sepsis, trauma, MI, cardiac arrest, respiratory failure)
- Monitor patient status with telemetry, interpret test results, and promptly communicate changes to the ED team; document care in EPIC and ensure accurate handoffs
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to expedite patient throughput and ensure safe discharge planning and patient education

Requirements
- Active New York RN license (NURSYS verification required)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (current)
- ED experience: minimum 2+ years in emergency department care; pediatric experience preferred
- Travel experience required; current EPIC EMR experience
- RTO (time off) must be requested and included at submission
- Travel considerations: must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; locals within 75 miles may qualify for local rate
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment with floating to other areas as needed
