Job Title: Staff Nurse Specialty Care Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Six months to three years of nursing experience License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience with intensive cardiac patients (CHF, COPD, end-stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, GI bleeds, CRRT, IABP, Impella, normothermia, stroke patients thrombectomy/TNK, ICU overflow) Collaboration Communication (verbal and written) Judgment and critical thinking Organizational understanding Planning (organizing and time management) Problem solving Quality control Reliability Safety and risk management

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN is responsible for the prevention of illness and injury and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and applicable policies. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients. The RN serves as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse when designated by unit assignment, considering factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact. The RN educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to hospital policy. The RN shares responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. The RN complies with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. The RN actively participates in and supports initiatives aimed at improving nursing practices and contributing to peer review. The RN engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completing all mandatory education requirements. The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. The RN provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. The RN performs duties related to charge nurse or shift coordinator roles when assigned. The RN may participate in programs that promote knowledge and expertise development. The RN will perform other duties as assigned.
