Project Manager - Construction Management / Fabrication Background
Lime Media Group, Inc.
As an employee at Lime Media, you will be part of a fast-growing organization that values giving back, believing in something greater than yourself, and a never-ending quest for excellence. We bring imagination to life by customizing vehicles and building unique fabricated environments that create marketing activations nationwide. If you love working with skilled, passionate people in a fast-paced environment, then Lime Media is the place for you.
About the Role
The Project Manager (PM) owns the coordination of assigned jobs from the moment sales hands off a sold project to the moment it leaves the shop. This is not a craft role — you are not building the work, you're the person who ensures the right work happens in the right sequence, on time, on budget, and to spec by managing the handoffs between sales, creative, purchasing, the shop floor, and activation management.
This is your role if you've run coordination on a construction site or in a fab shop, on events or permanent installations, and know how to keep a job moving.
The PM engages clients directly and consistently, building trust through reliability, credibility, and emotional intelligence — the same qualities that keep small issues from becoming client-facing incidents. Our day-to-day clients are producers at world-class experiential agencies and Fortune 1000 companies.
What This Role Owns
This role is built around outcomes — not a task list. Here's what "doing this job well" actually means:
- Milestone Hit-Rate — Every project hits its key milestones, tracked and visible in real time.
- Quality Finish-Out — Shop output meets Lime's finish-out standard on every job, with no re-work driven by missed coordination. Output matches the desired and client-approved scope.
- Budget Adherence — Every job finishes at or under its production budget.
- Making Trades — Adding scope means adding time or money, through internal trades or client change requests.
- Client Feedback Participation — Clients engage with feedback requests — a sign the relationship is healthy enough to be candid.
- Client Satisfaction — The PM-influenced portion of the client journey scores high on standardized feedback requests.
How Authority Works in This Role
When a craft lead (Creative, vinyl, quality control, fleet, or shop) is putting a milestone at risk, the PM's job is to see it early, name it, and drive a recovery plan in the moment — in board walks, on the shop floor, with the shop supervisor and leads at the table. The PM does not redirect a craft lead's priorities unilaterally. When a risk can't be resolved at that level, the PM escalates it clearly and fast, rather than sitting on it or trying to force a fix outside their authority.
- A PM owns the sequencing, the handoffs, and the visibility across everyone else's work.
- A PM owns communication with the client across everyone else's work during the design and build phases of the project.
The Handoffs You're Responsible For
A project moves through a series of handoffs:
Sales → PM — reviewing what was sold, asking the questions that need asking before the job moves further.
PM → Creative — translating scope to creative and reviewing their spec documents and vinyl direction to ensure the shop can actually build it.
PM → Client — securing approval on upstream dependencies with clear expectations set on both sides.
PM → Production Kickoff — the formal handoff into the shop.
PM → Activation — the handoff out of the shop to the team supporting the activation.
Alongside these handoff gates, the role carries continuous monitoring responsibilities:
- Upstream dependencies — anything the shop is waiting on.
- Purchased-in assets — non-fabricated items added to the build (cabinets, props, flooring, etc.), tracked so they land on time and match spec.
- The daily shop board — the whiteboard-driven, real-time view of build status and the metrics that matter, walked daily with shop supervisors.
- Quality control — getting started properly, and fit and finish along the way.
- The metrics that matter — budgets, hours, and schedules.
Who You Are
Experience & Background
- 1–3 years of experience coordinating projects in a construction or fabrication environment (baseline requirement)
- Experience with experiential marketing, set design, branded environments, or events production is a strong plus, not a requirement
- Demonstrated ability to run real-time coordination on a shop floor, construction setting, or jobsite — not from a desk
- Demonstrated ability to manage, report, and mitigate risks
- Demonstrated ability to manage, report, and update multiple stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and report on timelines/schedules
- Demonstrated ability to process and manage requested changes correctly
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and vendors
- Demonstrated ability to create, manage, and report on budgets
- Proficiency with MS Office / Google Suite and project management software
- Familiarity with project management methodologies
Credentials
- Field experience is the real credential here — a bachelor's degree is a nice-to-have, not required
- PMI-related certifications (CAPM, PMP) are a nice-to-have; genuinely sharp project management acumen matters more than certification
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing concepts (flow, visual management, waste reduction) is a plus — our shop floor already runs on visual, kanban-style tracking, and someone fluent in Lean will recognize and improve it quickly
Behaviors & Characteristics
- You see problems before they escalate, and you deal with them in real time rather than in a meeting next week
- You're comfortable holding people accountable to a schedule without having authority over them
- You're organized enough to run a portfolio of concurrent customized jobs, not just one project start-to-finish
- You communicate constantly and in writing — status updates, blockers, and decisions are documented, not just remembered
