Cannabis Consultant

Compensation: Starting at $15.00-$18 per hour + tips
Position Type: Part-Time or Full-Time
Location: In-Person

Position Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable, personable, and sales-driven Cannabis Consultant to join our dispensary team. This customer-facing position is responsible for creating a welcoming retail experience, helping customers navigate available products, and providing thoughtful recommendations based on individual preferences, needs, and current inventory.

The ideal candidate is professional, dependable, comfortable working in a regulated retail environment, and able to balance excellent customer service with strong sales performance and attention to compliance.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide professional, friendly, and attentive service throughout their visit.
• Ask thoughtful questions to understand customer preferences and recommend appropriate products from available inventory.
• Educate customers on product categories, formats, potency, terpene profiles, consumption methods, and other relevant product information.
• Maintain strong knowledge of current inventory, promotions, pricing, and product availability.
• Build positive customer relationships and contribute to customer retention and loyalty.
• Process sales accurately and efficiently using the dispensary's point-of-sale system.
• Follow all applicable cannabis regulations, company policies, age-verification procedures, purchase limits, and compliance requirements.
• Utilize Metrc , point-of-sale systems, and other required technology platforms accurately and responsibly.
• Assist with inventory organization, product displays, merchandising, restocking, and maintaining a clean and professional retail environment.
• Communicate product or inventory concerns to management when appropriate.
• Support store goals by identifying customer needs, recommending relevant products, and providing a high-quality retail experience.
• Maintain discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality when interacting with customers and handling business information.
• Complete required training and remain informed about cannabis products, industry developments, and company procedures.
• Perform additional retail and operational duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, hospitality, cannabis, consulting, or another customer-facing environment .
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport and provide consultative sales recommendations.
• Ability to learn cannabis products, terminology, regulations, and technology quickly.
• Experience using point-of-sale systems, Metrc , Microsoft Office, or similar business software is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow compliance procedures.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Cannabis industry experience is preferred but not required.

Additional Requirements

• Must meet all state and local eligibility requirements for employment in a licensed cannabis dispensary.
• Must be able to verify customer identification and follow all age-restricted sales procedures.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and available to work scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

Compensation

Starting pay is $15.00-$18 per hour, plus tips . Additional compensation opportunities may be available based on experience, performance, responsibilities, and company policy.
