Workathome Data Maintenance Specialist

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is looking for a Customer Data Specialist. This role will support key accounts by providing data‑driven insights to optimize IXL's implementation and benefits within schools and districts. This position requires you to be in our San Mateo, CA, headquarters office. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Build and maintain strong working relationships with Sales, Customer Success, Professional Learning, Research, and Marketing teams to understand reporting needs and prioritize requests effectively. Translate complex stakeholder requests into accurate, well‑structured reports and visualizations that illuminate IXL usage, student growth, and overall progress. Develop a deep understanding of IXL's databases and proactively identify opportunities to refine and improve processes for data reporting. Collaborate with Engineering on intricate data requests, escalating and problem‑solving effectively to deliver accurate outputs. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Bachelor's degree in mathematics, data analytics, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in a similar role (e.g., data analyst, data‑driven customer success, or marketing analytics). Proven analytical skills, including the ability to translate complex data requests into clear reports and visualizations. Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets; experience with Python (pandas, numpy, matplotlib) is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication, and proven ability to collaborate cross‑functionally. Self‑motivated and organized, with the ability to manage a queue of requests independently and make sound decisions aligned with the team and company needs. Experience managing confidential customer data. The base salary range for this full‑time position is $70,000 to $90,000 + benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
