About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Staff Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 5 years RN experience in a cardiac telemetry department License: Current RN License in Client Certifications: BLS and ACLS Certifications Must-Have: Strong experience with cardiac telemetry procedures and protocols Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. They work towards the prevention of illness and injury and the alleviation of suffering. The RN is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of human response. They advocate for the care of individuals and families. The RN is accountable for compliance with all standards of practice. They engage in professional development in accordance with nursing policies and practices. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care. They manage a group of patients and serve as a primary nurse or accountable nurse. The RN educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management. They utilize knowledge of pharmacology to safely administer medications. The RN shares responsibility for resource utilization, including time management and supplies. They comply with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. The RN actively participates in nursing governance and improvement initiatives. They engage in professional development and complete mandatory education. The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. They provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. The RN follows organizational values and performs other assigned duties. Required skills include collaboration, communication, critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning, problem-solving, quality, reliability, safety, and risk management. Preferred experience includes clinical nursing in an acute care or ambulatory setting. A graduate of an accredited school of nursing is required. A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing is preferred. Professional certification in a related nursing specialty is preferred. Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) may be required by the assigned unit.
