Role Description As a Controller you will be a key leader in the finance team and an important contributor to the financial operations of our rapidly growing company. You will be responsible for providing technical accounting expertise, improvement of financial processes, and development of a high performing accounting team. You must be a hands-on, roll up your sleeves type of manager and should enjoy a fast-paced, start-up environment, with experience driving critical process improvements. The position requires strong financial, accounting and management skills and the ability to understand the big picture while being detail oriented. Responsibilities: Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies. Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger system, including chart of accounts, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Lead the implementation of internal control processes Support the transformation of the organization’s ERP system, serving as the business owner responsible for optimizing financial processes, reporting, data integrity, and internal controls Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual operating budgets Manage the relationship with external auditors and own the successful completion of the year-end audit and quarterly reviews Manage tax compliance and returns Manage the payroll accounting function, including payroll processing oversight, journal entries, reconciliations, payroll tax compliance and related financial reporting Manage the company’s equity incentive plan and employee stock purchase plan Enhance and develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures Supervise, coach, develop, and prioritize workflows for team members assigned to project teams Identify, provide recommendations related to system enhancements/upgrades/implementations and establish objective to ensure agreed-upon targets are met Documenting processes and ensuring compliance with financial management and accounting regulations Other duties as assigned Qualifications: 10+ years in related experience, technology industry experience preferred CPA with a bachelor’s degree in finance / accounting required Demonstrated knowledge and skills in US GAAP Experience with various ERP systems Experience with payroll systems Team builder, and good written and verbal communication skills Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Impeccable analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Self-motivated and proactive, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
