Quality Assurance Specialist

Location: Denver, CO 80203 – Hybrid, 1 day per week in office Interview Type: Web / In-Person Job Code: SB26-149-QA1-2027 Candidate Requirement: Only candidates local to Denver, CO will be considered. No relocation candidates will be considered. Scope of Project Strong foundational knowledge of manual testing principles, including test case design, functional, regression, API, and performance testing, and defect management. Technical skill to write, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright, TypeScript, Java, k6, MCP, AI-assisted testing, and other tools. Proficiency in using developer tools, reading error logs, and tracing the source of issues to provide detailed information to developers, including Google DevTools, application logs, requests/responses, stack traces, heap dumps, etc. Proficiency in translating high-level business and functional requirements into detailed, efficient, and comprehensive test cases. Knowledge of industry-wide quality assurance measures, testing standards, and current best practices. Knowledge of identifying potential quality risks, assessing their impact and likelihood, and formulating effective mitigation strategies. Ability to proactively identify potential issues early in the development lifecycle rather than reactively finding them later. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with software engineers, system personnel, and management. Ability to adapt to new challenges, pivot strategies when data suggests a different path, and remain resilient in the face of setbacks. Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills. Competency with test management tools such as Zephyr Scale, GitLab, etc., for logging bugs and tracking test progress. Knowledge of various database systems, including relational databases and NoSQL databases. Experience with specialized test data management and data governance platforms. Ability to analyze test requirements and profile existing production data. Deep understanding of core testing principles, including test case design techniques such as boundary value analysis and equivalence partitioning, defect lifecycles, and how testing integrates into various methodologies. Technical skill to design realistic performance test scenarios, including scripting user journeys, parameterizing data, and creating load models. Ability to systematically break down complex processes. Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages. Ability to execute predefined test cases and perform unscripted exploratory testing. Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills. Attends meetings and training as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Meticulous attention to detail is critical. Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams. Responsibilities Develop and execute test plans to ensure that all objectives are met. Implement and monitor test scripts to assess functionality, reliability, performance, and quality of the service or product. Identify and remedy defects within the production process. Recommend, implement, and monitor preventative and corrective actions to ensure that quality assurance standards are achieved. Compile and analyze statistical data. Ensure that user expectations are met during the testing process. Draft quality assurance policies and procedures. Investigate customer complaints and product issues. Ensure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements. Required/Preferred Skills Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience in quality inspection, auditing, and testing. Strong computer skills and knowledge of QA databases and applications.
