- # RN Staff Nurse II - CardiologyApplyremote type: On Campus/Onsitelocations: South County - St. Louis, MOtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR96534# **Location**SAINT LOUIS, MO 63129# **Scheduled Hours**40# **Position Summary**Provides specialized patient care and education for patients receiving treatments, examinations, surgeries, dialysis, etc., in a medical office according to established procedures.# **Job Description****Primary Duties & Responsibilities:*** Performs and documents assessment of the patient/family (biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual and environmental); collects and analyzes data from the medical record in order to coordinate patient care.* Directs and/or provides patient care, which may include administering medication, performing procedures and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice.* Provides appropriate counsel and education to patients/family regarding disease process and symptom management.* Maintains medical records requiring appropriate and timely recording of patient information.* Consults with members of the health care team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.* Demonstrates cost-effective work habits by setting priorities and properly managing supplies and equipment.* Assists the health care provider with examinations, procedures, prescription refills and other processes related to direct patient care.* Participates in quality improvement activities to ensure appropriate clinical outcome.* Professional contributions, including presentations, preceptorships/mentorships, committee participation, community service, inclusion on research or professional publications or local, regional or national professional organization leadership roles.* Performs other duties as outlined in specialty-specific job responsibilities.**Working Conditions:** Job Location/Working Conditions* Normal office environment* Exposure to blood-borne pathogens* Requires protective devices* Patient care setting* Direct patient care settingPhysical Effort* Typically sitting at desk or table* Typically bending, crouching, stooping* Occasional lifting (25 lbs or less)Equipment* Office equipment* Clinical/diagnostic equipmentThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to this classification.
