Summary of Position

The Spa Attendant requires an individual who is energetic, and service oriented with an affinity for order and cleanliness. Their purpose is to guide the guest through their spa experience while ensuring all service and facility standards are met. This person must be experienced in dealing with the public, enthusiastic, friendly, and accommodating.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Welcoming guests and showing them to their lockers.
2. Anticipate guest needs and efficiently handle all guest requests.
3. Issues locker keys and towels and monitors the return of those items.
4. Assist with the cleanliness and organization of locker rooms and issue desk.
5. Ensuring an adequate supply of clean towels, robes and guest-wear are available.
6. Maintain a clean, neat, and organized issue desk by wiping counters, keeping counters clutter-free and organizing drawers and cabinets.
7. Assisting with removing used linen and restocking linen.
8. Welcome guests to locker rooms.
9. Maintain any “lost and found” items & bring lost articles to the front desk/security
10. Guides guests through dressing room areas, wet lounges and relaxation lounges
11. Ensures policies and procedures are done to Spa Montage standards within a Spa Attendant presentation of amenities
12. Provides accurate information regarding all areas of the Spa/Hotel with a helpful, friendly and courteous manner.
13. Assists with the cleanliness and organization of the dressing rooms, relaxation lounges and wet areas.
14. Maintain par stock levels of towels washcloths, robes and linens.
15. Maintain toiletries in the vanity area.
16. Maintain shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the showers.
17. Coordinate daily locker room inventory of towels, washcloths, and robes with management
18. Clean lockers upon guest’s arrival and departure.
19. Coordinate laundry pickup and delivery
20. Maintain stock levels of supplies according to purchase order system.
21. Direct guests to appointments.
22. Ability to recommend treatments/classes to guests.
23. Communicate any guest problems/complaints to MOD
24. Maintain cleanliness of sauna and steam room and place designated oils in sauna and steam room according to procedures.
25. Special projects assigned.
26. Attend meeting scheduled by supervisor.
27. Adheres to hotel policies and procedures.
28. Professional image through dress, posture, poise
29. Ability to deal with people in a courteous manner in demanding situations.
30. Ability to maintain cleanliness
31. Ability to solve problems using common sense and good judgment
32. Providing quality service during peak hours
33. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
34. Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
35. Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
36. Must possess basic computer skills.
37. Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.
38. Knowledge of Maybourne Resort and Spa operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous spa or health club experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in customer service

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position of extended periods of time
• Must be able to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize and assess from long distances
• Light to moderate lifting is required
• Ability to work in a confined area.
• Walking and standing are required throughout the working day--length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water. The individual must be able to transport up to 30 pounds on occasion.
• Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the resort on a timely basis. Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continually basis.
• Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 pounds, occasionally. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisor, and subordinates. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vison and depth perception.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
