Roles & Responsibilities

• Make a real difference by rooming patients and preparing them for their visits in a Hematology/Oncology clinic
• Keep care moving smoothly by transcribing provider orders into Epic with accuracy and speed
• Support patients through thoughtful messages, reminder calls and follow-up communication
• Prepare and abstract charts so providers walk into every visit fully informed and ready
• Handle faxes and other back-office essentials that keep the clinic running like clockwork
• Partner with a small, close-knit provider team caring for up to 20 patients a day
• Help shape a calm, organized and welcoming experience for patients facing cancer and blood disorders

Qualifications

• Current Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential
• Active BLS certification
• At least 2 years of clinical experience, ideally in an ambulatory or outpatient clinic setting
• Comfortable and confident working with Hematology/Oncology patient populations
• Proficient with Epic charting
• Valid driver's license required at the time of submission
• A caring, dependable teammate who thrives in back-office workflow

Education

• Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Oncology and Hematology
• Experience or 'Must have' skills: Proficient in Epic
• Previous clinical experience, strong experience in back-office work
• Are RN's required to titrate drips N/A
• Common titratable &/or set rate drips N/A
• Charge Nurse/House Supervisor : Kate Johnson - Clinic Supervisor
• Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios N/A
• RT Equipment (ie Cpap, Bipap, High Flow) N/A
• Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Do nurses read strips? N/A

• Additional Notes: This position supports our Hematology & Oncology clinic. Duties include rooming patients and assisting with back-office flow. Back office flow work may include: transcribing orders into Epic, messaging patients, abstracting and prepping charts for providers, reminder calls, faxes.
