divh2Pediatric Ophthalmologist (MD/DO)/h2pThe Pediatric Ophthalmologist provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for eye disorders affecting infants, children, and adolescents. This role focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of congenital, developmental, and acquired pediatric eye conditions, delivering evidence-based, family-centered care in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams./ph3Essential Duties and Responsibilities/h3ulliEvaluate and manage pediatric patients with ocular and visual disorders/liliDiagnose and treat conditions such as strabismus, amblyopia, congenital cataracts, pediatric glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, and refractive disorders/liliPerform pediatric ophthalmic surgical procedures consistent with training and privileges/liliProvide medical management and longitudinal follow-up care for acute and chronic pediatric eye conditions/liliPerform and interpret ophthalmic diagnostic testing and imaging appropriate for pediatric patients/liliCollaborate with pediatricians, neonatologists, neurologists, geneticists, and other specialists/liliParticipate in care of premature infants and NICU consultations, as applicable/liliEducate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and visual development/liliMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentation/liliParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives/liliSupervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, or clinical staff as applicable/liliComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards/li/ulh3Qualifications/h3ulliDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school/liliCompletion of an accredited ophthalmology residency program/liliCompletion of an accredited pediatric ophthalmology fellowship/liliBoard-eligible or board-certified in Ophthalmology/liliAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure/liliDEA registration or eligibility/li/ulh3Skills and Competencies/h3ulliExpertise in pediatric ophthalmology and pediatric surgical techniques/liliStrong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills/liliExcellent communication and family counseling abilities/liliAbility to work effectively with children and caregivers/liliCommitment to evidence-based, patient- and family-centered care/li/ulh3Work Environment/h3ulliOutpatient pediatric ophthalmology clinics, surgical centers, and hospital settings/liliCall coverage as determined by practice or service needs/li/ulh3Physical Requirements/h3ulliAbility to sit and stand for extended periods/liliManual dexterity for pediatric examinations and surgical procedures/liliVisual acuity sufficient for detailed ophthalmic evaluation and microsurgery/li/ulpRequirements: Must maintain state certification and/or licensure./p/div
