Staff Research Associate

Job Description The Staff Research Associate (SRA) will support the Principal Investigator (PI) in conducting active experiments and assist with administrative responsibilities essential to the operation of a biomedical research laboratory focused on cardiovascular complications associated with emerging cancer therapies. This position offers experience with preclinical mouse models, molecular and cellular techniques, and laboratory management, and is a strong foundation for graduate training or medical school. Responsibilities Develop proficiency in molecular and biochemical techniques such as Western blotting, quantitative PCR, RNA transcriptomics, protein analysis, and single‑cell analysis (flow cytometry, scRNA‑seq). Assist with in‑vivo mouse experiments and actively participate in mouse colony management (weaning, genotyping, breeding). Oversee laboratory supply inventory and ordering. Liaise with and supervise EHS, IACUC, and CSA protocols. Support experimental work for the cardiovascular toxicity and immunologic mechanisms studies. Provide administrative support for daily laboratory operations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in biology, chemistry, molecular biology, or related field. At least one year of recent, directly related experience with mouse colony management, basic cell culture, molecular cloning, biochemistry, and molecular biology techniques. Experience performing DNA/RNA extractions, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, PCR, and quantitative RT‑PCR. Knowledge of molarity calculations, sterile technique, Mendelian genetics, and general microbiology. Ability to perform standard data analysis and multi‑task effectively. Preferred Qualifications Experience with rodent handling and experiments. Prior basic science research experience. Experience with laboratory management. #J-18808-Ljbffr UCSF Health
