Seasonal Tax Preparer

Overview Provident Tax Services is hiring Seasonal Tax Preparers for the upcoming tax season. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, professional, dependable, and comfortable working directly with clients and confidential financial information. Tax Preparers will be responsible for preparing accurate individual income tax returns, reviewing client documents, asking appropriate follow-up questions, and following all company, IRS, and tax software procedures. Responsibilities Prepare accurate federal and state individual income tax returns Review W-2s, 1099s, identification documents, dependent information, and supporting tax documents Complete required due diligence and documentation for credits, filing status, dependents, and other tax positions Communicate with clients regarding missing information or documents Enter client information accurately into tax preparation software Review returns for accuracy before submission Protect taxpayer information and follow confidentiality and data-security requirements Follow Provident Tax Services policies, workflows, training, and compliance procedures Maintain professional communication with clients throughout the tax preparation process Participate in required training and team updates Qualifications Must have or be willing to obtain a valid IRS PTIN before preparing tax returns Strong attention to detail and basic computer skills Comfortable working with numbers, financial documents, and confidential information Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to follow tax preparation procedures and meet deadlines Previous tax preparation experience is preferred but not required for qualified candidates willing to complete training Compensation This is a seasonal, commission-based position. Tax Preparers receive 70% of eligible tax preparation fees collected on returns they prepare, with 30% retained by Provident Tax Services for administration, software, support, training, and business operations.
