Senior Marketing Specialist

We're seeking a strategic, collaborative, and highly organized Senior Marketing Specialist to join our marketing and business development team. This is an opportunity for an experienced AEC marketing professional who enjoys partnering with architects, designers, marketing colleagues, and firm leadership to develop winning pursuit strategies, support business development initiatives, elevate the firm's brand, and tell compelling stories about our work. You’ll play a central role in leading complex pursuits, shaping marketing strategy, and strengthening the firm's visibility within the industry. From major proposals and interview presentations to digital communications, thought leadership, public relations, and business development support, you’ll help position Spacesmith for continued growth and ensure our work is presented with clarity, creativity, and impact. What You’ll Do Lead the development of qualifications packages, proposals, interview presentations, and other pursuit materials from opportunity evaluation through submission. Help evaluate potential pursuits, research prospective clients and markets, and contribute to go/no-go decisions. Develop compelling pursuit strategies and messaging that clearly communicate Spacesmith's strengths and differentiate the firm. Manage project collateral from start to finish. Lead the creation of high-quality marketing collateral, presentations, case studies, and branded communications across print and digital platforms. Translate complex architectural ideas into engaging visual and written narratives that resonate with clients and stakeholders. Serve as steward of the Spacesmith brand, ensuring consistency across all communications and marketing materials. Develop content for the firm's website, LinkedIn, Instagram, newsletters, and other digital platforms to showcase projects, awards, studio culture, and thought leadership. Coordinate public relations initiatives, award submissions, media opportunities, project photography, and publication efforts. Represent Spacesmith at industry conferences, SMPS events, client functions, and professional organizations, building and nurturing relationships and coordinating strategic follow-up with firm leadership. Bring fresh market intelligence and new ideas back to the firm by staying actively engaged with industry organizations and peer networks. Track industry trends, competitor activity, client priorities, and procurement opportunities, sharing insights that inform marketing strategy and business development efforts. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, and industry organizations to support long-term business development. Coordinate conference participation, speaking engagements, sponsorships, and strategic networking activities that align with the firm's growth objectives. What We’re Looking For Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 6-10 years of strategic marketing, business development, or communications within an architecture or interior design firm. Demonstrated success leading complex proposals, qualifications packages, interview presentations, and strategic pursuits. Outstanding writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling abilities. Exceptional graphic communication skills with a sophisticated understanding of typography, layout, and visual hierarchy. Experience with Adobe Design Suite (InDesign and Photoshop are a must). Experience with CRM platforms and marketing databases; Salesforce experience is a plus. Demonstrated involvement in professional organizations such as SMPS, AIA, CoreNet, ULI, or similar industry groups, with the ability to build relationships and identify business development opportunities. Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
