Position Title:(TL1) Pre-K Paraprofessional

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION


Hold an associate degree or higher in any subject from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution; Have completed 2 years (60 semester hours) of college coursework above the remedial level at a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution with a grade of "C" or better. Hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent and have passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment

Goal:


Works with students in completing educational activities under the supervision of the classroom teacher.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Conducts small group or individual classroom activities based on lesson plans developed by the teacher.
• Assists with supervision of students.
• Assists with student assessment, grading work and test and collecting data on student progress.
• Locates, operates, and returns equipment required for classroom activities.
• Assists with routine record keeping.
• Assists with the preparation of materials for instruction.
• Assists with classroom housekeeping.
• Assists in the ordering and inventory of classroom equipment and materials.
• Assists with school-wide supervision, such as loading/unloading buses.
• Follows all district, state and federal policies and procedures.
• Directs the conduct of students in accordance with policies at all times.
• Takes all reasonable measures to protect students' health and safety.
• Seeks to improve through professional development and evaluation activities.
• Maintains prompt and professional communication with all stakeholders.
• Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
