Who We’re Looking For A Senior Specialist for our Retirement Services team, passionate about transforming the retirement FinTech space. The role supports Sales, Onboarding, Plan Design, and Plan Documents teams, creating and reviewing retirement plan documents and consulting sponsors on plan features. Responsibilities Plan Design Consultation: collaborate with Plan Sponsors to design defined contribution plans, addressing queries and ensuring clear understanding of specifications. Plan Document Review: support sales in conversion contract considerations by reviewing plan specifications and capturing decisions to create new plan documents. Regulatory Interpretation & Compliance: independently interpret ERISA and other laws to create, amend, and restate retirement plan documents that are legally compliant. Plan Document Drafting & Maintenance: prepare plan documents, including amendments, restatements, participant notices, and disclosures, ensuring consistency with design decisions. Independent Judgment & Analysis: evaluate design requests, assess risk, and determine appropriate document structures with minimal supervision. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: work with Onboarding, Administration, Client Success, and Employer Services to ensure seamless implementation and administration. Process & Documentation Improvement: contribute to process reviews, research, and documentation related to plan document operations and audit support. Project Management: design and manage workflows for large‑scale document projects, ensuring timely and accurate execution. Product & Automation Support: partner with Product teams to improve documentation automation and overall plan document capabilities. Requirements Deep understanding of ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations. At least 5 years of experience in qualified/non‑qualified plans (sales support, design, drafting, and testing). Strong attention to detail, deadlines, and customer‑service orientation. Excellent communication and collaborative skills with internal stakeholders and clients. Proactive workload management. Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, cloud portals, and internal drives. The Extras Knowledge of plan document drafting systems (e.g., FT William, Datair, ASC, Sungard Relius). Experience with API functionality. Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM. Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) or ASPPA credential, or equivalent experience. This role is based in our Austin or Scottsdale office and supports Vestwell’s hybrid in‑office model. The expected base salary range for this position is $75,000–$85,000, plus performance bonus. The position is eligible for new‑hire equity, with salary bands based on metro area and may vary by location.
