divh2Job Description/h2pJob Responsibilities:/ppThe Surgical Technologist 1 demonstrates knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts. Demonstrates basic surgical case preparation skills. Demonstrates responsible behavior as a health care professional. Demonstrates the ability to perform the role of the first scrub on all basic surgical cases. Demonstrates the application of the principles of asepsis. Demonstrates the application of the principles of aseptic technique. Identifies variances from expected outcomes and responds to changes in patient needs. May perform additional duties as assigned./ppMinimum Qualifications:/ppSurgical Technologists 1:/pulliHigh School diploma or equivalent/liliPreferred: Recent Hospital experience and/or previous practice experience/liliRegistered in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Surgical Technologist at time of hire/liliBasic Life Support form AHA required upon start./li/ulpSurgical Technologists 2:/pulliHigh School diploma or equivalent/lili2 years of Surgical Technologist experience/liliRegistered in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Surgical Technologist at time of hire/liliBasic Life Support form AHA required upon start./li/ulpSurgical Technologists 3:/pulliHigh School diploma or equivalent/lili1 Year Surg Tech experience or equivalent/liliRegistered in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Surgical Technologist at time of hire/liliCertified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery Certified (TS-C) via NCCT required upon start./li/ul/div
