Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Float Pool team. This position offers the opportunity to work across various units, including MedSurg, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Unit (PCU), while providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Job Details

• Unit: Float Pool (MS/Tele/PCU)
• Shift: Nights
• Shift Length: 12-hour shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a PCU setting.
• Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS.
• Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing the contract. A minimum score of 80% is required. Failing to meet this score will result in a 6-month Do Not Use (DNU) status in specified locations.
• Candidates must not have been employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facility in the past year.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients in the Float Pool across various departments including MedSurg, Telemetry, and PCU.
• Manage and titrate medications such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
• Care for diverse patient populations, including geriatric and orthopedic patients, with experience in cardiac care including post-operative care for CABG and other procedures.
• Monitor patients using telemetry, with the ability to interpret cardiac rhythms.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurse aides and respiratory therapists.

Additional Information

• Nurse-Patient Ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6.
• Orientation: Includes an 8-hour general hospital orientation followed by 12-hour shifts in assigned units for hands-on training.
• Scheduling: Flexibility is required. Schedules are published 6 weeks in advance, with night shifts accommodated for block scheduling when possible.
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.
• Holiday Requirements: Inclusion in permanent staff rotation for holidays.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: Professional solid color scrubs; navy scrubs effective October.
• Units assign shifts via text notification 2 hours prior to the start.
