Junior Accountant Hesperia, CA, US 7 days ago Requisition ID: 1656 Salary Range: $28.00 To $33.00 Hourly We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Junior Accountant to join our accounting team in the construction industry. This is a permanent position that will play an important role in supporting the company’s financial operations. This position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and will work closely with the Accountant I and other members of the accounting and operations teams. Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation. Prepare and reconcile financial accounts, including bank, balance sheet, and general ledger accounts. Prepare routine journal entries and supporting schedules. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. Assist with accruals, prepaids, and other routine accounting functions. Identify, research, and resolve routine discrepancies and variances, escalating issues requiring additional analysis or accounting judgment. Prepare accurate and timely productivity and financial reports. Assist with month-end close activities and ensure assigned tasks are completed accurately and within established deadlines. Support audit activities by gathering documentation and preparing requested schedules. Collaborate closely with the Accountant I and Accounting Manager to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information. Provide cross-functional and accounting support as needed and progressively take ownership of assigned accounting responsibilities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required. Minimum of three years of progressive accounting experience, including accounts payable and accounts receivable; experience in the construction or manufacturing industry preferred. Working knowledge of account reconciliation processes and general ledger accounting. Understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to organize, analyze, and report financial data. Experience working with multiple entities preferred. Experience with the Epicor Kinetic accounting system is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research discrepancies and identify appropriate solutions. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work effectively within a team environment.
