The candidate will be responsible for handling a pending of primary and excess liability claim files presenting significant exposure to Sompo and its insureds.This position can be based out of any of our US Sompo office locations. **New York City, Garden City, NY, Purchase, NY, Morristown, NJ, Chicago, IL, Charlotte, NC or Alpharetta,** **GA** are preferred.We strive for collaboration which is why we offer a work environment where our employees thrive and develop long lasting careers.**What you’ll be doing:*** Direct handling of complex casualty files involving significant bodily injury, property damage, and/or significant coverage issues.* Applying and demonstrating strong technical knowledge, legal insights, accuracy, and responsiveness on claim files with a high degree of customer service.* Providing coverage and analytical analysis of potential exposures, developing successful litigation and resolution strategy, establishing appropriate reserves on files;* Timely identifying and elevating potential large losses and communicate effectively internally and externally**What you’ll bring:*** 15+ years experience in an insurance-related technical claims position with an emphasis on excess liability, catastrophic bodily injury and/or property damage, and severity claims handling.* BA/BS degree required. Juris Doctorate optional* Insurance related professional designations/education such as CPCU, IIA & SCLA a plus* Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills and ability to establish close working relationship with the underwriting team through open communication and assist with aspects of marketing* Some travel required**Salary Range:** $150,000 – $175,000.
