Summary/Objective

API is seeking a seasoned professional to join our company in the role of Director of Analytics. The Director of Analytics will utilize data from different sources across multiple platforms to turn data into information and information into insights that support better decision-making in key departments.

Essential Functions

• Lead the strategy, design, and execution of the automation for our savings tracking for airlines.
• Develop PowerPoints to clearly present to clients. Highlight our key achievements and savings across their network of hotels.
• Work cross-functionally with various business departments to identify process improvements and automation opportunities.
• Identify and implement enhancements in the planning and operational processes for room inventory availability, resulting in decreased workload in the Operations Department (API Flex Rooms program).
• Showcase capabilities, cultivate use cases, and drive adoption of Automation & AI.
• Build and monitor KPIs for Account Management, Planning, and Operational departments.
• Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques to suggest efficiencies, report on manpower needs, manage room inventory, and streamline reporting for internal and external customers.
• Analyze airline spend, planned/unplanned room usage, operations call center transitions, and phone call volume to create and maintain room inventory management.
• Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics, and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
• Develop a platform to report on hotel rate movement and inventory availability in key markets.
• Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain internal databases/data systems.
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
• Implement improvements to the sourcing process to best serve our clients.
• Other job duties may be assigned to the Director of Analytics when needed, based on the client's or API's needs. This will be communicated directly by his/her supervisor.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics.
• 2+ years of data mining experience.
• 4+ years of experience in a data analyst role.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Impeccable integrity, analytical skills, and a strong work ethic.
• Proficiency in the Salesforce platform preferred.

Competencies

• Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.
• Ability to suggest systems to best organize large data sets.
• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design, development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
• Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects, etc.), databases (SQL, etc.), and programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks).
• Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
• Great attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced corporate environment.
• Excellent written English skills.
• Ability to multitask.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal core business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

This position requires approximately 5% travel annually.

Compensation Range

The good-faith salary compensation for this role based at our headquarters on Long Island is between $90,000 and $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time according to business needs.

The performance of additional responsibilities if you are designated as a Data Protection Champion (DPC), Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) or Information Assurance Accounting Officer (IAAO).

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
