Surgery - Neurovascular Physician

• Full-Time Commitment: The ideal candidate will be available for a minimum of 7 consecutive shifts (more preferred), providing full-time coverage across 24-hour shifts.
• Diverse Role: This role includes a mix of neurointerventional procedures, general neurology coverage, inpatient management, and clinic work.
• Schedule: Coverage includes 24-hour shifts:
• Weekdays: 3 clinic days per week (12-hour clinic days with night call).
• Weekends: Call coverage only (no clinic).
• Collaborative Environment: You will not work solo. You will collaborate closely with hospitalists, neurosurgery, regional facilities, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) who supplement coverage based on volume. You will also act as a collaborating physician for the APPs.
• EMR System: The facility uses EPIC for charting.
• Quick Privileging: The estimated time to secure full or temporary privileges is 60 days.

• Perform neurointerventional and endovascular procedures consistent with a comprehensive stroke program.
• Provide general neurology coverage as needed.
• Manage an inpatient census of approximately 15 patients, including consults, admissions, and ER cases.
• Serve as the primary call contact for CareHub transfer calls related to neurology and neurointerventional cases.
• Act as the collaborating physician for APPs.

• Education: MD or DO.
• Board Status: Board Certified.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience.
• Licensure: An Active Illinois State License is REQUIRED (clean background). IMLC will not be accepted.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, DEA, and CSR licenses are required.

• The target start date is January 1, 2026.
