Senior Geotechnical Engineer

STV is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support a $3-$5-billion-dollar project delivering high-quality infrastructure. Responsibilities Assist the Geotechnical Engineering Manager in guiding geotechnical engineering efforts, including site investigations, soil testing, and foundation design. Ensure compliance with geotechnical standards, specifications, and best practices. Provide expertise and guidance to the geotechnical team during project planning, developing the scope, units, and staff hours, and performing negotiations with the design team. Provide technical guidance on ground improvement, slope stability, and foundation systems. Collaborate with structural and roadway engineers to integrate geotechnical solutions into design plans. Review geotechnical reports, calculations, and design recommendations. Identify geotechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies. Support project permitting, stakeholder coordination, and construction oversight as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred). 8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, including leadership roles in infrastructure projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or the ability to obtain one within six months. Expertise in geotechnical analysis, foundation design, and soil-structure interaction. Proficiency in geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, LPILE, GeoStudio, or similar tools. Knowledge of geotechnical standards, specifications, and design criteria. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills to address complex subsurface challenges.
