Duties Description This RN2 Community will report to the Director of Quality Improvement. The RN2 will play a unique and active role in supporting the district as a nursing subject matter expert. This role is critical to the health and safety of the individuals supported in that it is a key connection and communication between district state operations and the QI department and is specifically tasked to ensure the quality improvement and standards of nursing across the district are maintained. This position will be a valuable resource for operational and regulatory information dissemination and training to nursing and residential staff, as appropriate, across the 5 counties. Duties include, but are not limited to: Complete medical charts and site reviews at residential day habilitation sites. Complete E.H.R. review of individual medical charts. Function as a resource to state operation residential and day program teams by providing training, technical assistance, conducting site visits and audits, providing ongoing monitoring of service delivery documentation, and evaluating program needs, processes, trends, and outcomes. Complete DQI survey readiness reviews in preparation for DQI visit. Review exit conferences and work collaboratively with the state operations teams to develop nursing related POCAs. Participate in the Nursing Standards of Practice and Health Service work group and Regional SOP Committee to assist in developing SOPs in counties. Complete reviews of incidents / investigations (medical, falls, death), as assigned. Serve as a committee member on the following committees: Incident Review Committee, Medication Certification Task Force, and Mortality Review Committee. Other duties as assigned. NOTE: Travel within the five-county catchment area will be required in the performance of the duties of the position. This may include a state-owned vehicle, as available, or the employee’s own car. LinkedIn: Minimum Qualifications Applicants must possess a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience. One year of this experience must have been providing direct services to individuals diagnosed with mental illness, developmental disabilities, addiction, or substance use disorders in a community setting. Substitution: A bachelor's degree in nursing may substitute for one year of general post-licensure clinical nursing experience; and a master's degree in nursing may substitute for two years of general post-licensure clinical nursing experience. Transfer: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1, 70.4, or 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades. HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. This means that you do not need to take an exam to qualify, but you do need to meet the minimum qualifications of the title. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status. You will not have to take an exam to gain permanent competitive status. Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 20 ($74,193), Increased Hiring Salary ($9,980), Geographic Pay Differential ($35,000), and Mid-Hudson adjustment ($2,000). Geographic Pay Differential and Mid-Hudson adjustment are added to the job rate ($94,121).
