Kelly Science and Clinical has an opening for an AR&D Scientist f or an engagement at one of our Global consumer product & pharmaceutical clients in  Summit, NJ. The role is eligible for medical benefits, paid time off including vacation (PTO), and holidays, and 401K. Schedule : Mon-Fri, 8AM-5PM
Duration : 12mo, can extend
Compensation : $40-$50/hr

Summary
This role is responsible for the development of analytical and bioanalytical methodologies for new compounds in Skin Health and associated molecules to support In Vitro Permeation Test (IVPT) or other associated activities using HPLC-MS, HPLC-UV, or HPLC-CAD as needed. Perform IVPT sample analyses for formulation screening projects. Record experimental data and write analytical reports.

The ideal AR&D Scientist we are looking for will have GxP experience; BSL-2 experience is a plus. The role requires hands-on experience with advanced analytical instrumentation, including Mass Spectrometry, SEM-EDS, TGA/DSC, etc., as well as method development and validation. The individual should be capable of working independently to generate data and prepare technical reports.

Responsibilities 

• Perform analytical testing of samples including but not limited to:
  • Sample preparation and HPLC-MS method development/validation for qualitative and quantitative analysis; Sample analysis of APIs in biological matrices using HPLC-MS.
• Develop analytical methodologies for material characterization and structural identification using various technologies including HPLC-UV, HPLC-CAD, HPLC-MS, and GC-MS, etc.
• Maintain Compliance with EHS requirements;
• Participate in job-related projects, technical and compliance meetings as needed.
• Understand the operation of all applicable lab equipment
• Ability to understand and apply SOPs for documenting and maintaining an accurate laboratory notebook, including sample data for all tests performed
• Proper and timely documentation in instrument logbooks in accordance with current SOPs utilizing the following programs: EMPOWER3, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Understand and follow safety procedures
• Learn additional techniques as needed
• Meet established deadlines for all sample testing
• Daily communication with internal members concerning testing, results, and project plans

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field, with intermediate-level GxP laboratory experience.
• Hands-on experience developing and validating HPLC-MS methods for qualitative and quantitative analysis, including biological matrices.
• Proficiency with HPLC-UV, HPLC-CAD, GC-MS, and related analytical instrumentation; experience with SEM-EDS and TGA/DSC.
• Experience with IVPT, formulation screening, sample preparation, laboratory SOPs, EHS compliance, and accurate data documentation.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, interpret results, prepare technical reports, and communicate effectively with R&D teams
• BSL-2 experience preferred.
