Senior Electrical Engineer, NPI

Senior Electrical Engineer supporting new product introduction for DNA sequencing instruments at Pacific Biosciences. Responsible for transitioning PCBAs and electrical assemblies from prototype through production, including test fixture design, troubleshooting, and manufacturing support.
Responsibilities
- Support electrical NPI activities from prototype development through pilot production and manufacturing ramp
- Design, build, validate, and document electrical test fixtures for subassemblies and instrument-level testing
- Perform PCBA bring-up, electrical testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
- Develop production test procedures, acceptance criteria, and technical documentation
- Collaborate with design engineers, manufacturing partners, and suppliers to resolve electrical issues during builds
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5+ years PCBA design, bring-up, testing, or troubleshooting experience
- Experience designing electrical test fixtures and production test equipment
- Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Cadence or Altium preferred)
- Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and logic analyzers
- Understanding of electrical manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturing principles
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with excellent communication
Compensation: $112,000-$168,000 base
