Scientist, Biology-Discovery (On-site)
Scorpion Therapeutics
Responsibilities Collaborate in a fast-paced, integrated, multidisciplinary team with open communication. Develop, optimize, and implement immunoassays for vaccine target antigens (ELISA and electrochemiluminescent/ECL assays). Evaluate preclinical immune sera in functional antibody assays (OPA/OPK and serum bactericidal assays/SBA). Contribute to mouse vaccine immunogenicity and bacterial challenge studies. Perform hands-on work in a BSL-2 lab, maintaining safety, documentation, and data integrity. Prepare technical documents, data summaries, and presentations for internal discussions and regulatory support. Qualifications Education: MS with 1+ year related experience, or BS/BA with 3+ years related experience in Microbiology/Bacteriology/Immunology or closely related field. Required Skills Scientific/technical leadership; adaptability. Collaboration in multidisciplinary environments. Immunoassays and functional antibody assays. Bacterial and cell culture. Hands-on in vivo mouse models. Hands-on BSL-2 lab experience. Excellent verbal/written communication. Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint) and GraphPad Prism. Preferred Skills Bacterial vaccine research; pharma/biotech industry experience. ELISA and ECL assays; functional antibody assays (OPA/OPK, SBA). Mouse vaccine immunogenicity/challenge study experience. Automated liquid handling systems.
