Patient Services RepresentativeNortheast Florida Health Services, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is seeking a full-time Patient Services Representative (PSR) for all of our locations to provide essential care coordination and patient services in our community health centers.Responsibilities:Schedules patients for appointments according to Northeast Florida Health Services, Inc. (NEFHS) d/b/a Family Health Source policies.Effectively and professionally communicate with patients in person, via the patient portal and on the telephone in regard to any question or concern they may have regarding care.Confirms appointments when indicated there was a problem with the automatic confirmation process to ensure that the patient will be keeping their appointment.Performs insurance eligibility verification when the patient schedules their appointment as well as forty-eight (48) hours prior to the scheduled appointment.Assists patients with completing medical information forms when applicable.Obtains necessary signatures for consent according to policy.Scanning of identification (ID) and insurance card for every patient into the patient's EHR.Verifies all patient information for accuracy.Answers all incoming telephone calls professionally.Receives and directs all questions from patients to appropriate party.Schedules patients for testing/referral according to NEFHS policy as needed to assist other departments.Informs the patient that prescription and or testing has been electronically submitted per the patient request.Collect all monies due at the time of service as well as outstanding patient balances according to NEFHS policy.Ensures at check out that the patient has any and all information needed.Work with all other departments to ensure the highest level of patient care.Maintains strict patient confidentiality at all times.Education/Experience:High school diploma or GED and at least two (2) years medical office or customer service experience.Qualifications/Skills:Ability to fluently speak English/Spanish Highly PreferredData entry experience requiredKnowledge of computer programsKnowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practicesSkill in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpful mannerAbility to read, understand and follow oral and written instructionsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the publicEnvironmental/Working Conditions:Physical Factors:Lifting: Up to 30 pounds 4-5 times a day, 5-10 pounds routinelyCarrying: Up to 30 pounds 5-10 times a day, 5-10 pounds routinelyStanding: 1-2 hours at a time, 2-4 hours a dayWalking: 5-10 minutes at a time throughout the daySitting: ½ -1 hour at a time, 4-6 hours a dayDriving: as necessary depending on business needVision: Color distinction necessaryHearing: No greater loss than 40dB average for 500,1000, 2000HzFrequent: Twisting, Reaching, Bending, Writing, Speaking, Use of Hands, use of fingers, Use of both legsOccasional: Climbing, GraspingEnvironmental Factors (exposure):Frequent: Dust, Constant noiseOccasional: Intermittent noise, Vibrations, Inside/Outside, Excessive heat, Cleaning agents, Excessive cold, Coolness/dampness, excessive humidity, dry atmospheric conditions, hands in waterNortheast Florida Health Services, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Background Screening Requirement Notice: In compliance with House Bill 531 (2025) Florida, this position may require a background screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.Applicants are encouraged to review important information regarding the screening process by visiting the official Clearinghouse Education and Awareness website.Completion of the required screening may be a condition of employment.Monday - Thursday 8:00a - 5:30p Friday 8:00a - 12:00p
