Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required | No On-Call Requirement

Key Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients on a basic Medical/Surgical unit.
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Addresses psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation effectively.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical nursing setting.
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 5:1 or 6:1.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical/Surgical specialty.
