Job Description

This position is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. The CT Technologist will work collaboratively with physicians to deliver accurate imaging results and maintain comprehensive patient records.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and exam details prior to initiating scans, adhering to departmental policies for safety.
• Coordinate with physicians to facilitate diagnostic imaging needs.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures and explain the process to ensure their comfort.
• Administer IVs as required for particular tests.
• Position patients appropriately for scans, taking care to lift or move patients with limited mobility safely.
• Document essential patient information accurately in the EPIC system, ensuring proper identification of images and transmission to the PACS system after examinations.
• Maintain a clean and secure scanning environment.

Requirements

• Health care professionals currently registered in New York State must have injection therapy certification noted on their license at the time of submission.
• Completion of formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Current New York State licensure to practice as a CT Technologist.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a relevant role.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Telemetry experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Injection certification is preferred, and candidates must be willing to complete this during the orientation process.
• Familiarity with Philips and Siemens imaging equipment is advantageous.
