Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – Community Hospital – Outpatient Occupational Therapist (Job ID 90912-147) Community Hospital is hiring a PRN Occupational Therapist! The Outpatient Occupational Therapist functions as an interdisciplinary team member. The role of an occupational therapist is to work with a client to help them achieve a fulfilled and satisfied state in life through the use of purposeful activity or interventions designed to achieve functional outcomes which promote health, prevent injury or disability and which develop, improve, sustain or restore the highest possible level of independence. Duties include preparing the patient and the treatment area, working collaboratively with the entire facility, and performing other duties as assigned. Essential Functions Promote optimum independence in daily living. Provide goal-directed, activity-oriented treatment to promote optimum independence in functional mobility and daily life tasks. Ensure continuation of performance through effective education of the patient, family, or support system. Provide adaptive methods and equipment as appropriate to enhance performance. Communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, and families. Protect confidentiality in all areas as applicable. Demonstrate knowledge of legal and ethical considerations in physical therapy practice. Keep accurate records and write meaningful reports. Execute therapeutic procedures and manipulate special equipment accurately and safely. Have Full Access to Protected Health Information of patients on caseload. Organize and prioritize tasks and projects. Accurately complete job responsibilities within the specified time constraints to meet the needs of patients, regulatory standards, and customer satisfaction. Apply knowledge of pool competency in adjusting, reading, and corrective measures for adjusting pool chemicals (site specific, where pool available). Help people of all ages improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. Assist clients not only to improve their basic motor functions but also to compensate for permanent loss of function. Use physical exercises to increase strength and dexterity, while other activities may be chosen to improve visual acuity and pattern discernment. Evaluate need for, facilitate the need for splints, orthotics, and surgical casting, and make adjustments as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate Degree as an Occupational Therapist. Current licensed or licensure-eligible as a registered Occupational Therapist in the State of Oklahoma.
