About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 12 weeks Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - RN: 1 year in the Emergency Department required, 2 years preferred - CNA: 1 year acute care experience required License: - RN: Active nursing license - CNA: State CNA licensure Certifications: - RN: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (preferred), NRP (preferred) - CNA: BLS Must-Have: - Experience managing a general ED patient population, including abdominal pain, CHF, chest pain, trauma, and respiratory illnesses. - Skills in ICU holdovers, insulin drips, cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, central lines, BiPAP, ventilators, procedural sedation, RSI levels, and triaging. - Ability to float within the facility as needed to care for Med/Tele patients. Description: Immediate start needed. Manager interviews will be conducted. This facility has 15 patient beds, including critical access services. Patient types range from neonates to geriatrics. Patient ratios for RN are 1:4, both shifts, dependent on acuity. CNA ratios are 1:10, both shifts. Support is provided on the unit by a charge nurse who also carries a patient assignment. Nursing supervisors assist with patient care if on shift. The nurse manager carries a patient assignment when available. No respiratory therapists are present. Charting is performed using a specific electronic health record system. Nursing staff can request time off with manager approval, but requests are not guaranteed. Holiday expectations include working at least one or two holidays, based on rotation. Scrub colors must be solid and professional.
