Overview Our Personal Lines Agents are responsible for building and maintaining client relationships through the sale, servicing, and retention of personal insurance accounts. This position provides professional insurance guidance, conducts coverage reviews, identifies opportunities to better protect clients, and contributes to agency growth through new business development and account retention. Personal Lines Agents are expected to deliver exceptional customer service, support agency-wide goals, and work collaboratively with team members to ensure every client receives prompt, accurate, and professional assistance.
Duties
- Generate new personal lines business through referrals, prospecting, networking, and agency-provided opportunities.
- Conduct coverage reviews and provide recommendations based on clients' individual needs and circumstances.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to support long-term retention and satisfaction.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding coverage, policy changes, claims concerns, and insurance recommendations.
- Assist clients with policy servicing needs, including endorsements, renewals, remarketing opportunities, and account reviews.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and account rounding across personal and commercial insurance products when appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with Agency Support Representatives and other team members to provide efficient and accurate customer service.
- Review renewal business and proactively address coverage concerns, premium increases, and retention opportunities.
- Accurately document client interactions and maintain records within the agency management system.
- Stay up to date on carrier guidelines, coverage options, and compliance requirements.
- Support agency goals related to growth, retention, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
Qualifications
- Active Kentucky Property & Casualty Insurance License required.
- Active Kentucky Life & Health Insurance License appreciated.
- Previous insurance sales or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with agency management systems (e.g., AMS360, Applied Epic, HawkSoft) is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
- Customer-focused with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
