Senior Accountant

Kforce is partnering with a client in the Saint Louis area to identify a Senior Accountant to join their growing accounting and finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong analytical capabilities and a desire for long-term growth within a dynamic organization. The Senior Accountant will support key accounting and financial reporting functions, including analyzing costs, trends, and variances, preparing financial analyses, and partnering cross-functionally to improve processes and reporting efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting, reporting, forecasting, and analysis for payroll, compensation, benefits, pension, and related accounts
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and other general accounting activities
- Partner with business leaders on department budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial presentations
- Support 401(k) and pension audits, including audit requests, Form 5500s, and financial statement reviews
- Assist with ad hoc projects, system implementations, process improvements, and cross-functional accounting support
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, SOX, internal controls, and company policies related to compensation and benefits
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong Excel skills, including v-lookups, pivot tables, and advanced formulas; experience with Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, OneStream, and Blackline preferred
- Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- High level of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive financial and employee data
