Under the guidance of an intervention specialist or teacher, aid with day-to-day classroom functions and student support.

High School Diploma or GED, and desire and ability to work with children of multiple ages and abilities. Excellent classroom management/support skills. Basic to intermediate skills working with computers and school technology. Ability to communicate as necessary with parents. Excellent written, verbal, and writing abilities. Positive attitude about working with children.

The duties of this job may include assisting all school subjects, including math, writing, science, social studies, reading, writing and testing. Aids the teachers in the instruction of students. Aids teachers in testing and assessment of students. Provides general administrative and clerical support: assist with preparation of classroom materials, assessments, monitoring students, and evaluating and recording student achievement. Assists in preparing materials, grading, attendance, paperwork, documentation and other clerical tasks as directed by the teacher, department head or administrator. Reinforces learning skills as modeled by the teacher. Follows and reinforces classroom management and school discipline policies. Assists in supervising the behavior, safety and well-being of students in and outside the classroom, halls, and playground. Other duties as assigned.
