Resident Care Associate

Position Title Resident Care Associate Department Nursing Reports To Resident Care Director Position Summary The Resident Care Associate provides direct, compassionate care to residents of Viva Senior Living facilities, ensuring continuity of care and adherence to regulatory standards. This role requires working collaboratively with peers, upholding the Resident Bill of Rights, and maintaining a safe, dignified environment for residents and their families. Comply with business conduct standards and federal, state, and local health regulations. Maintain compassion and dignity toward residents and respect the Resident Bill of Rights. Be available for emergency call‑backs during severe weather, evacuations, or staffing shortages. Adhere to Viva Senior Living’s attendance policies and the Employee Handbook. Speak, read, write, and understand English. Deliver the highest standards of resident care and support to residents, families, and loved ones. Follow all facility policies and procedures. Responsibilities Provide direct care to residents, reporting care provided and changes in condition to the Resident Care Director. Assist residents with lifts, moves, and transports using proper body mechanics or lifting devices. Respond to inquiries from residents, visitors, and staff promptly and courteously. Follow individualized care plans and share observations with nursing staff. Communicate effectively with residents, families, peers, and supervisors to promote a homelike environment. Know and uphold residents’ rights, reporting any abuse or violations to supervising staff. Implement safety and infection control procedures, including hand hygiene, glove use, and debris disposal. Prevent skin breakdown by repositioning immobile residents and applying moisturizers. Arrive on time and maintain reliable attendance. Perform additional duties as required by the facility. Deliver high‑quality service in a compassionate atmosphere recognizing resident needs and rights. Report occupational exposures, injuries, and illnesses immediately to supervisors. Complete assigned training and competency skills. Participate in life safety and emergency drills and fulfill duties during emergency plan activation. Assist with resident evacuation during emergencies. Maintain confidentiality of Protected Health Information. Report policy non‑compliance, breaches of confidentiality, abuse, neglect, or retaliation to appropriate personnel. Report suspicions of crime to law enforcement and state agencies. Requirements Annual verification of a negative TB skin test. Physical And Sensory Requirements Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday. Capacity to manage the mental and emotional stress of the position. Adequate vision and hearing, or suitable prosthetics, to perform job duties. Meet general health requirements, including a medical and physical examination. Ability to interact with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, or agitated residents. Capability to push, pull, move, or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and a distance of 50 feet. Possibility of assisting in resident evacuation during emergencies. #J-18808-Ljbffr
