Position OverviewThis role is designed to fulfill the core responsibilities of a nurse by assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care within the Emergency Room setting.
Essential Job Functions- Plan, prioritize, and deliver proficient nursing care that is age-specific and tailored to developmental or specialty needs, utilizing advanced clinical nursing knowledge to ensure patient and family comfort and safety.
- Accurately and consistently document medical records in a clear and concise manner.
- Monitor and record patients' signs, symptoms, and behaviors, including their physiological status.
- Propose modifications to interventions and desired outcomes based on patient assessments.
- Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of patient information and records at all times.
- Implement physician orders in the provision of nursing care.
- Collect laboratory samples and conduct lab tests in accordance with established policies and COLA and CLIA regulations.
- Follow infection control protocols, isolation procedures, and aseptic techniques while delivering patient care.
- Conduct admission, discharge, and transfer processes.
- Engage in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care provided.
- Prepare equipment and supplies for various diagnostic or treatment procedures in the specialty area; perform or assist with procedures or treatments while adhering to legal, hospital, departmental policies, and established nursing standards as defined by the State Board of Nursing.
- Carry out all assigned Quality Assessment activities and document findings.
- Participate in staff meetings or other company-sponsored meetings as required.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Associate’s Degree is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Must hold a current state license as a Registered Nurse without any sanctions.
- A minimum of 2 years of full-time RN experience in an Emergency Room or a comparable setting is required.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association are mandatory; ENPC certification from ENA may substitute for PALS; TNCC certification is preferred.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential.
- For Candidates in Pennsylvania: Completion of Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance) and Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) within the last 5 years is required, or these must be obtained prior to the start date.
