Quality Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Quality Engineer in Louisville, KY for an 8 month contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role supports manufacturing and engineering operations by ensuring product and process quality meet rigorous standards. You will focus on defect resolution, data analysis, and driving continuous improvement across cross-functional teams.


Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field, or 10+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality engineering role, preferably in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments
• Experience analyzing quality metrics and trends to support continuous improvement
• Experience performing root cause and corrective action (RCCA) using methods such as 5-Whys and countermeasure development
• Experience supporting tiered management systems and escalation processes
• Experience facilitating Non-Conformance Report (Client) reviews
• Experience conducting Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
• Experience managing containment activities and responding to quality issues
• Experience supporting inspection plans and control plans
• Experience conducting internal process audits and responding to Corrective Action Requests (CARs)
• Experience with Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
• Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Ability to review technical documents and contractual quality requirements
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with operators and cross-functional teams

What You'll Do

• Analyze quality data and trends to identify improvement opportunities
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for product and process issues
• Support tiered management systems and structured escalation processes
• Facilitate Client reviews and support corrective action activities
• Conduct MSA and ensure measurement system reliability
• Perform containment actions and support resolution of quality issues
• Develop and maintain inspection and control plans
• Conduct internal audits and support compliance initiatives
• Participate in PFMEA activities and risk mitigation efforts
• Review technical documentation and ensure adherence to quality requirements
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality and operational performance
