Apply today.Your Role as the Certified Medication Aide (CMA)Memory Care Americare Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to support residents in our Memory Care community. In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring safe medication administration while providing hands-on support with daily living activities in a secure, home-like environment. Working under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, you'll help promote comfort, dignity, and consistency of care for residents living with memory loss. Summary The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is responsible for administering prescribed medications and supporting residents with activities of daily living in accordance with state regulations and Americare policies. This role partners closely with nursing staff and caregivers to ensure resident safety, routine, and person-centered care in a Memory Care setting. This role may also be known as: Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Medication Technician (CMT), Med Aide, Level One Medication Aide (L1MA), or Medication Assistant. What You'll DoAdminister prescribed medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staffVerify resident identity prior to medication administration and document dosage, time, and observationsMonitor residents for medication responses and promptly report adverse reactions or concernsAssist residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meals, and mobilityRecognize and report changes in resident condition to charge staffMaintain accurate documentation related to resident care, intake, and output as orderedAssist with admission, discharge, and transfer documentation as requiredSupport coworkers by providing assistance as neededPerform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident rooms and common areasAnswer phones, greet visitors, and assist with tours as requestedWhat You BringQualificationsMust be at least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredCompletion of a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) program that meets state requirementsActive certification in good standingSkills & AbilitiesAbility to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary care teamStrong attention to detail and commitment to medication safetyCompassionate, patient, and resident-focused approach to careEffective communication and professionalismPhysical DemandsLift up to 25 lbs. and assist with resident transfers as neededPush, pull, and maneuver up to 100 lbs., including resident mobility assistanceManeuver resident wheelchairs weighing up to 350 lbs.Safety RequirementsFollow proper resident care procedures, including two-person lifts when requiredUtilize required PPE to prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogensReport work-related injuries within 12 hours and complete required documentationParticipate in company drug testing proceduresWork Environment This role is performed in an indoor Memory Care environment with appropriate lighting and ventilation. Duties may occasionally include accompanying residents to outdoor or community activities under supervision.
