Roads Design Coordinator Lead

Job Description EHC is currently looking for a Roads Design Coordinator Lead for a client located in Lake Charles, LA. Position Purpose/Summary The Roads Design Coordinator Lead is committed to supporting our client by leading the Roads, Drainage, and Landscaping Design Management of the project. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for the Roads, Drainage, and Landscaping Design Management of the project. Responsible for the Roads, Drainage, and Landscaping Design team during the execution stage. Implements the Project Design Management Plan and all those plans related to the technical part of the same that are required by the contract with the Client. Coordinates with Client and other third parties to resolve discipline‑related technical issues to obtain final approval of the design. Establishes, monitors, and maintains a realistic design schedule with deliverables necessary to satisfy contract, procurement, and construction requirements. Identifies, manages, and assists in the preparation of proposals for design alternatives that are beneficial for the project. Manages all contracts related to the Design: Main Designer, Independent Design Reviewer (IDV) and Temporary Works related to the discipline. Provides contractual support from a technical point of view to other project contracts: contracting support, technical interface with specialized subcontractors, technical disputes, etc. Identifies technical risks and participates in the preparation of risk reports. Participates in the review of the Project budget forecasts, providing the necessary technical part for its realization. Establishes and implements the design management strategy and other technical procedures for the project. Support in the execution stage (project assistance team to resolve nonconformities, RFI with designers and unexpected events during construction). Collaborates within the technical department, as well as with other departments. Advises/participates in the formalization of contracts with engineering companies. Guarantees the correct transmission of design information to the entire project team. Manages the technical claims of the project related to the discipline. Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge, Abilities, & Skills for Success Effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc. Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change. Ability to function effectively as a team player and collaborator. Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime, as needed, to best serve the business operations. Qualifications At a minimum, the Roads Design Lead Coordinator must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or equivalent field of study, along with 10+ years of engineering related experience with a focus on roads, drainage, and landscaping. A Louisiana Professional Engineer (PE) License as well as experience with design build contracts and working in a multi-cultural environment is preferred. Position Location: Lake Charles, LA Compensation Range: $86,000 – $133,000/year, DOE Position Type: Full-Time; Exempt Relocation: Assistance is available and will vary based on position, location, etc. This position is required to be on-site; therefore, no remote or hybrid schedule is available. Bonus: No bonus structure is available, at this time. Benefits: Benefits available but not limited to medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, 401(k), STD, LTD, life insurance, etc. Schedule: Typically, Monday – Friday, 8a – 5p, with ability to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime, as needed based on business operations and needs.
