Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 37-bed Medical Surgical unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4/5 on days
• Manage patients with common diagnoses including heart failure (CHF), pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, and general Med Surg presentations
• Administer and monitor set-rate drips including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives; titration of drips is not required
• Demonstrate competency in reading telemetry strips using Phillips Telemetry monitoring system (centrally monitored off the unit)
• Collaborate with charge nurses, nurse aides (1:12 ratio), and respiratory therapy to support moderate oxygen needs and overall patient care
• Participate in floating within Zone 3 as determined by unit needs, and fulfill weekend and holiday scheduling requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in the state of Colorado
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience
• Competency in telemetry strip reading required
• Must be physically present in state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for patients with CHF, pneumonia, or COPD in an acute care setting
• Familiarity with Phillips Telemetry monitoring systems
• Experience with self-scheduling and block scheduling environments
