Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist RE Location: RWJ New Brunswick Department: Ultrasound Req#: 0000154626 Status: Per Diem Shift: Day Pay Range: $48.00 - $59.57 per hour Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations Qualifications: Required: High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate of an AccreditedUltrasoundSchool. ARDMS Certification required. Must be CPR certified. Preferred: Minimumthree yearsexperience in a hospital setting performing the following preferred:Abdomen, OB/GYN, Small Parts, Thyroid, Vascular, Pediatric,Biopsiesand Interventional Procedures. RVT Essential Functions:

• Screen requisitions to ensure proper exams are being ordered and proper prep is called to the Nurse taking care of the patient.
• Ensure proper work flow is being maintained.
• Maintain positive relationship between Radiologist and sonographers.
• Assist Lead Technologist and Supervisor in the day to day operation.
• Primary person ensuring proper steps are taken in the documentation process of ultrasound exams (tracking/dictation of exam in timely manner).
• Initiate service calls and documents.
• Train fellow sonographers and students with complex and/or new techniques.

• Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on his or her assigned unit, i.e. Infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
• Assesses data reflective of each patient’s status and interprets information needed in order to identify each patient’s age requirements relative to his or her age specific health care needs.
• Abides by standards established by the hospital, state and federal regulatory agencies.
• Assists supervisor with review of co-workers sonograms to ensure that they are following departmental policy. Provide a list of positives and negatives of the sonogram for educational purposes.
