Join Our Dynamic Cardiovascular Care Team! Job Description:
- Unit Information:
- Unit: 4Heart, Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC)
- Location: Asheville, NC
- Floor: E4 - CVPC
- Building: E Heart Tower
- Number of Beds: 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds
- Total Staff: Approximately 100 - Patient Population:
- Engage with patients recovering from:
- CV surgery and vascular surgery (open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery)
- Esophagogastrectomy
- AAA (open and endovascular)
- Carotid endarterectomies
- Overflow medical cardiology patients (heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, heart block, etc.) - Staffing Overview:
- Day Shift:
- 1 charge RN (routinely out of staffing)
- 13 RNs
- 4 PCTs
- 1.33 HUC
- Night Shift:
- 1 charge RN (routinely out of staffing)
- 13 RNs
- 4 PCTs
- 0.33 HUC - Patient Ratios:
- 1:5 patients per RN
- 1:13 for PCTs - Essential Skills and Experience:
- Must Have:
- Stepdown experience
- Telemetry experience
- Preferred:
- Prior CV surgery and vascular surgery population experience (within the last year)
- CVICU experience - Typical Procedures:
- Epidural management
- Chest tube management
- Tube feedings
- IV gluccomander
- Cardiac gtt management (phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, ketamine) - Best Personality Fit:
- Team player
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible and adaptable - Required Certifications:
- ACLS and BLS - Floating Areas:
- Any SD (1:5 ratios) or MS (1:6-7 ratios) unit
- ER inpatient holding area (1:6) - Dress Code:
- Scrub Color/Attire: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white - Weekend Requirements:
- Minimum 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday day/night) per 6 week schedule period
