Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: IMC/Tele RN - Cardiac/Tele/Dialysis Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 12 hours (1100 to 2300) Experience: Minimum of 2 years recent RN experience in a busy hospital environment License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Experience with post-procedural cath lab patients Management of TR band compression devices Management of chest pain Experience with post-cardiac surgical patients Description: This position involves caring for patients on a Stepdown unit. The department handles a variety of cardiac medical and surgical cases. Common diagnoses include post-cardiac surgery, chest pain, CHF, and arrhythmias. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4 during the day and 1:5-6 at night. There is a central telemetry unit that monitors non-critical care patients. The charge nurse takes a modified assignment. Support staff, including nurse aides, are present on the unit. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 for necessary procedures. Every other weekend and holiday shifts are required. Floating requirements are based on unit census. Clinical staff must clock in and out while on duty.
