Role Description The Barber role is a full-time, on-site position based at Joe's Barber Shop in Plattsburgh, NY. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing barbering services such as hair cutting, trimming, and styling to clients of various hair types and preferences. The barber will consult with clients to understand their desired look, recommend appropriate hair care routines, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation. Additional duties include sanitizing tools and equipment, managing appointment times, welcoming walk-in clients, and contributing to a friendly, professional shop atmosphere. The role also involves building long-term client relationships and supporting the shop’s reputation for excellent service. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Barbering and Hair Cutting skills for a variety of styles and lengths. Candidates should possess skills in Hair Styling and Hair Care to advise clients on maintenance and products. Candidates should possess relevant Cosmetology or barber licensure as required by New York State regulations. Candidates should possess good client service skills, including clear communication, professionalism, and reliability. Candidates should possess the ability to stand for extended periods and maintain proper hygiene and sanitation practices.
