ravel Med Surg/Observation RN – Cardiac Observation

Join a fast-paced 21-bed Med Surg/Cardiac Observation Unit providing care for cardiac observation and medical-surgical patients. This assignment is ideal for experienced telemetry nurses who are comfortable managing cardiac medications and caring for post-procedure patients.

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour Days or Nights (7:00 AM–7:00 PM / 7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
• Contract: Travel RN
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: May float to other inpatient units based on patient care needs while remaining within your scope of practice.

Requirements

• Active RN License
• BLS and ACLS required
• Telemetry experience required
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Experience with set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone infusions
• Experience with TR Bands is highly preferred

Patient Population

• Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization
• Chest Pain Rule-Outs
• Heparin Drip Patients
• CHF
• COPD
• Pacemaker Patients
• Cardiac Arrhythmias
• General Medical-Surgical Patients

Unit Highlights

• 21-bed Cardiac Observation/Med Surg Unit
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
• Telemetry monitoring with monitor technicians
• Charge Nurse available 24/7
• Certified Nursing Assistants support patient care

Clinical Skills

Experience with:

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Cardiac observation patients
• Heparin therapy
• Set-rate Cardizem and Amiodarone infusions
• Post-cardiac catheterization care
• TR Band management (preferred)

Additional medications may include Bumex and Lasix.

Schedule & Orientation

• 12-hour shifts
• One day of computer orientation
• One precepted clinical orientation shift before independent practice
